SUPER WIDE CITY

The Super Wide City project captures the spectacular view of a city in motion, both creating and preserving a historically relevant portrait of a city during a time of accelerated change.

By immersing himself in the vast scale of London's urban landscape, photographer James Bell has created a series of immaculate, large format works capturing carefully selected rooftop aspects of London. Shot between 2007 and the present day.

James built his reputation working with international corporates, branding and government agencies.

Whilst working at the very top of London's metropolitan skyline, glimpses of an epic urban vista rarely seen by the public were opened up to him.

This inspired him to collect these 'fragmented views’ he saw everyday and document this great city. First looking in from the point of view of the suburbs and then the detail of concentration of the centre in all its glory.
